Common Whole Home Remodeling Questions
Still have a question? Call Bryant Builder at (831) 713-0187 and we will talk it through with you.
How much does a whole home remodel cost?
There is no single price for a whole home remodel, because the scope sets it. How much of the house is included, whether we reconfigure layouts or add new rooms, the demolition and reconstruction involved, and the materials and finishes you choose all move the number. At your consultation we discuss your goals, needs, and budget, then put together a free quote.
How long does a whole home remodel take?
There is no fixed length, because your scope sets the schedule. We work in the same order every time: consultation and planning, design and material selection, construction, then a final walkthrough with you. Construction does not begin until your selections are settled, so decisions made early keep the build moving. We put the dates in place with you once the plan is agreed.
Do you handle the permits, or is that something I have to sort out?
We manage the permitting process with you rather than leaving it on your plate. A remodel at this scale generally involves permits, so it is part of the plan from the first conversation and we stay on it as the work moves. Approvals are the local agency's decision, so we will not promise an outcome, but you are not chasing it alone.
Do I need to have a design or plans ready before I contact you?
No. You do not need finished plans before you call. At the personalized consultation we listen to your ideas, go over what you need, and look at the design possibilities with you. Our team then creates a customized design that makes the most of the space and how it functions, shaped around your needs and the way you live.
Which towns do you cover for a whole home remodel?
We are based in Watsonville and take on whole home remodels there, in Aptos, Santa Cruz, Monterey, and the surrounding areas. If your town is not on that list, call us at (831) 713-0187 and ask. On a job this long it helps that we are close by: you work directly with owner Mike Bryant, from the first consultation through the final walkthrough.
Can you change the layout, or do we have to keep the walls where they are?
Yes. Reconfiguring layouts and adding new rooms are both part of a full home remodel here. Which walls can move is settled during design and material selection, before demolition begins. If one has to stay where it is, you hear that while the design is still being worked out, and we look at the alternatives then rather than midway through the build.
